Getting Ready to Re-Open –Our Top Tips for Restaurants

The Government has today announced new long-awaited measures that will allow restaurants and pubs to re-open, safely.

Our team want to make sure our customers have everything they need to get up and running successfully – so we’ve prepared a few tips.

Step 1. Managing Social Distancing 

Under the new rules, social distancing has been relaxed to one metre plus and restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes can re-open from the 4th July 2020 if the new COVID19 guidelines can be met.

Step 2. Restoring Consumer Confidence 

Restaurants will need to work hard to re-assure their customers that it’s safe to return. With that in mind, last week, the AA launched a new COVID Confidence accreditation which sets out standards that food outlets must comply with. This includes:

  • Staff training
  • Safety measures
  • Risk assessments

Step 3. Deep Cleaning and Hygiene   

If your restaurant has been inactive for a long period of time, you may need to invest in a deep clean. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) advises extra staff, food and equipment checks alongside usual checks.

Step 4. Refreshing Your Menu 

Every good restaurant owner knows that to stay profitable, it’s important to ensure that everything on the menu is worth being there and is pulling its weight. Now could be a good time to shake up and streamline your menu.
